About Natasha
Natasha’s interest in the human body developed during her childhood years of figure skating and coaching, which led her to complete a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Co-op) Honours degree from Memorial University. She has many years of customer service experience, working with the public in the healthcare and fitness industry and working as a personal trainer, skating coach, physiotherapy assistant, and camp counsellor. The kinesiology program nurtured her natural curiosity for science and gave rise to her love for dental health and its relation to overall health. In 2009 she completed the Diploma of Dental Hygiene from Oulton College, and since 2012, she has completed many higher-level science courses between Memorial University, Dalhousie and Acadia while working full time.
Coming from rural NL, where going to the dentist was not a regular part of everyday life, Natasha realized there is a need for greater access to care right here in Newfoundland. She volunteered in Haiti on two dental relief missions and is an active volunteer with the NL Dental Hygiene Association Outreach committee, Gift from the Heart, and the volunteer-based dental clinic at the Gathering Place.
